Hi loves, it’s been a while since I’ve been able to eat out at a restaurant and I miss it so much! Though, through supporting local food spots in my city, I’ve discovered such a yummy place to try!

Situated in the Old Port of Montreal, on St-Paul, is Nelli Cafe. cafe by day and wine bar by night it was such a beautiful and chill place to sit down with either a cup of coffee and glass of wine and get some work done.
The cafe is part of the main floor of one of the cute boutique hotels in the old port, called Hotel Nelligan.
It’s super cute in the summer! Before restaurants closed in the fall of last year, in Montreal, I actually had the chance to experience it firsthand. I loved the large open windows and not to mention the food was absolutely amazing.
Though now that I can only takeout when I go to Nelli, my go-to is their Katsu Chicken Sando with: Fried chicken, homemade sauerkraut and honey chili glaze (Very yum). If you’re in Montreal, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Something else that I really love about Nelli is how amazing (and filling) their appetizers are. We ordered the cheese platter and the calamari and we would have been completely comfortable just eating those two dishes. they were both so delicious and full of lovely flavours.

Lastly, I’ll speak about their extensive wine list. Since Nelli is a wine bar in the evenings, there is quite a large selection of curated wines to try. We decided to try this natural and raw wine from France called Tharseo and it was delightful. It was full bodied but wasn’t too dry of a wine. This orange wine had a variation of Muscat of Alexandria, Terret Gris grapes.
The city is filled with so many places to eat at, but Nelli cafe was truly a gem to discover. I would recommend trying them out any time!
